Car Care Tips

Protecting Leather Seats from Qatar’s Heat

Leather seats are one of the first things to show wear in a Qatari car — not from use, but from heat. A parked car in direct sun regularly hits 60-70°C inside, and leather takes that punishment every single day it’s left uncovered.

Why Leather Cracks in the Heat

Heat dries out the natural oils in leather, and UV exposure breaks down its surface coating. The result is the fading and fine cracking you see on seats that are only a couple of years old — damage that’s largely preventable with the right routine.

Cleaning vs. Conditioning

Wiping leather down removes dust and spills, but it doesn’t replace what the heat is drying out. A proper interior clean pairs a pH-neutral cleaner with a conditioner that puts moisture back into the material — cleaning alone isn’t enough on its own.

How Often to Treat It

A light clean every wash, and a full conditioning treatment every 4-6 weeks if the car sits outside regularly. Cars kept in covered parking can stretch that further.

Don’t wait for the cracks to show.
